About this supplement...

This "special supplement" dated July 25, 1972 was circulated on a day of mass industrial action. Like the previous supplement, it consisted of a single sheet of paper printed on both sides.

The strikes were in protest at the jailing of five men (known as the Pentonville Five) who defied an order by the National Industrial Relations Court to stop picketing a container depot in London. The court had been established a few months earlier as part of the Conservative government's effort to limit the power of trade unions.
